First, expect the session to last about 1.5 to 2 hours, divided into three stages: artistic portraits, the cake smash itself, and a cozy bath afterward. The artistic portraits will take around 30-45 minutes, followed by the cake smash for another 30-45 minutes, and finally, about 20-30 minutes for the bath.

When it comes to outfits, dress your child in something cute and easy to clean, and consider bringing a second outfit for the bath. If you prefer, the studio can provide additional outfits and props to enhance the session.

For the cake, choose a simple, soft cake that is allergy-friendly and avoid overly elaborate decorations to keep things manageable. Additionally, discuss backdrop options with your photographer, and think about including personal props, like favorite toys or a special banner.

Timing is key! Schedule the session around your child's nap time and give them a small snack beforehand to keep their spirits up. Be prepared for messiness—bring wipes, towels, and a change of clothes for after the cake smash and bath.

During the bath time, having a few bath toys and soft towels can make it more enjoyable for your little one. Most importantly, relax and enjoy the moment. Allow your child to explore and play; some of the best shots come from spontaneous interactions.
